BEGAN 11 YEARS AGO...

In April of 2014, Adnan was left single and dateless for his senior prom. Molly, who was a junior at the time, had noticed that Adnan was adjacent to her friend group and often listed as a mutual friend on her social media. She decided to shoot him a friend request on Snapchat. Soon after, Adnan had posted on his Snapchat story that he was having instant ramen for breakfast (something he found quirky at the time). This was the moment when Molly decided to slip into Adnan's DM's. The two quickly bonded over their quirky similarities- Molly too enjoyed ramen for breakfast. The slow and steady contact between the two of them developed into a strong Snapchat streak (a flex for any relationship circa 2014). When Molly discovered that Adnan didn't have a date to prom, she offered that they nonchalantly 'go as friends.' They both agreed to go to prom so long as it was strictly platonic. Molly didn't want a relationship & Adnan didn't want cooties. But seeing as they were going to go to prom together, they figured they might as well go on 'not a date' the night before. That way they could just talk over dinner and establish just how much they didn't have feelings for one another. What ended up happening was quite the opposite. Molly and Adnan talked until the restaurant closed before talking even more while on a late night walk at Stubbs Park. What started out as 'not a date' ended with the two holding hands late into the night. The next day was prom, where Adnan and Molly attended the dance for all of 5 minutes. They left all the bumping and grinding at prom to just continue conversing outside of the high school gym. The conversation moved onto what their ideal bucket list would be- Molly discovered that Adnan never learned how to use chop sticks & Adnan discovered that Molly didn't know how to play piano. So they got in the car and promptly drove to a Chinese restaurant open late enough for Adnan to scratch chop sticks off of his bucket list. Soon after, they went to a local Kmart so that Adnan could teach Molly how to play a jingle on a display piano- all while still in their prom clothes. While they didn't know it at the time, this night laid the groundwork for the rest of their relationship: a series of unexpected moments, trials, and successes. Today, more than a decade later, Adnan & Molly reside in Oakwood, Ohio nearly a 10 minute drive away from Stubbs Park where they first fell in love and a mere 5 minutes away from the venue where they are scheduled to be married.
